2. ESTABLISHMENT OF REGIONAL OFFICES.At present the Association is having its two Zonal Offices situated in Karachi and Lahore which represent the members from Northern and Southern Zone. However, the Association is aiming to achieve the Membership threshold upto 200 Members. It will not only help in increase the membership of the Association and increase in its financial resources but at the same time the small traders will also be benefited by the services of the Association.
The main object of establishing the Regional Offices is to ensure the provision of maximum services to the Members in their respective Provinces.
3. BUDGETING AND FINANCIAL CONTROL:
The Association is already exercising maximum austerity in the expenditures. The Executive Committee shall ensure that that it strives its utmost to enhance the financial resources of the Association firstly by broadening The Membership base and secondly raising the Admission and Membership fee with the consent and cooperation of the Members. At the same time the Association shall exercise maximum budgetary control on expenditures, so as the promotion of the cause of Association and productive activities.
4. INTRODUCTION OF MODERN TECHNIQUES AND EFFECTIVE SAFETY MEASURES.
The Association will introduce the modern techniques for its Members for Manufacturing of Canvas, Tents and allied products to make them more competitive with International Standards. As, the products of the members are being exported throughout the world wherever it is required. The members have a vast experience in export of its products to the victims of Famine, Floods, Hurricane, Typhoon, War and Earth quack effected countries. At the same time, the Association is also concerned about the safety of manpower working in the manufacturing industries. In this regard, the Association plans to hold workshops at the industrial sites to give practical demonstrations of the safety measures to the workers. The Association will conduct studies to minimize such risks and introduce adequate safety measures for the benefits of the Members and their employees. Association will keep on advising the Members on use of safety measures at and about the useful tools. This will also be done through issuance of news letters and leaf lets, etc. from time to time. Once that the Association get its licence renewed its website, all sorts of information and material will be available on the web.
5. FORMATION OF COMMITTEES.
Besides the efforts to enhance the Membership and extend the services in all Major cities, the Association shall resort to set up various Committees, comprising of its members and the members of the Executive Committee to carry out such functions as may be contained in the term of reference of every committee. The Committees shall deliberate on, various issues relating to the Canvas and Tents Traders and will make recommendations to the Central Executive Committee for taking appropriate action for redressal of the problems having faced by the Members. In this regard, Central Executive Committee besides its own efforts will seek assistance of the Chambers of Commerce & Industry of the concerned districts as well as FPCCI.
LONG TERM ACTIVITIES.
I. PROMOTION OF CORPORATE CULTURE AMONGST THE MEMBERS.
In the prevailing socio-economic conditions when the prices of commodities are touching the skies, it is becoming difficult day by day to continue the business. The prices of every thing especially textile industry, have gone up substantially while the purchasing powers has remained static rather gone down. As such both the buyers as well as traders are suffering. PCTMEA Traders are mostly conducting business as sole proprietorship concerns. There is a dire need to develop corporate culture to organize the business in accordance with the universal corporate practices. This helps raising the desired capital as well as in achieving maximum support of the Financial Institutions, who feel more comfortable in dealing with corporate customers rather than individuals. The Association shall exert to introduce and strengthen corporate culture amongst the Members. This will also help in developing Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) for value addition of the Canvases, Tents and allied products. This will also help not only in enhancing profitability but also substantially help in generation of employment opportunities and poverty eradication.
II. TRAINIG AND DEVELOPMENT.
This is an era of competition, wherein the need for training, research and development needs no over emphasis. This has to be continuous process and the information needs to be exchanged at the earliest. One needs to remain in the state of preparation at all the times. Keeping this essential element in sight, the Association will resort to conduct seminars, workshops and training sessions for the Members as well as their work force from time to time. This will help the Members to improve their faculties and develop and conduct the business in more professional manner. Thus improving upon efficiency would be value addition towards quality and customers satisfaction.
III. EXHIBITIONS.
Once the Association attains the desired strength of Members and improve up its financial position, it will resort to holding Exhibitions of Canvas and Tents and its allied products not only at important exhibition centers at home but also abroad, thus exploring foreign markets / customers, earning valuable foreign exchange for the country. We are convincing of our members to participate in the International Exhibitions / Fairs for the introduction of their products this will be a source for expansion of the business.
IV. EXPERT ADVISORY SERVICES.
The Association will in due course of time, develop a panel of experts in Accounts & Finance, Taxation, Law and Corporate Affairs, to provide expert advice to the Members from time to time in these fields. The matters of common interest will be published at the Association's website for the benefit of all Members of the Association / Community. Industrial advisory services will also be rendered to the individual members on request.
VI. ASSOCIATION’S OWN OFFICES:
To improve the services of Association for its members, Association plan a complete secretariat and for this purpose Association decided to purchase or build its own offices in Lahore and Karachi.
VII. GENERAL.
The Association shall keep an eye on the day to day developments relating to the Canvas, Tents, Tarpaulins & allied items manufacturing and its Marketing and Trade. It will serve as bridge between the Manufacturers and Traders. The Association will also closely monitor the economic indicators and advise the members on the emerging risks and opportunities on periodical basis.
The Association will undertake such other functions as may be warranted from time to time in the best interest of the Members.
